Have you ever felt like the world was heavy on your shoulders? Like the burden just never stops?
Success is the very thing we crave, and failure is the thing we dread. We’re told from a young age that success is what measures you. If you are financially stable, live in a big house, and have a happy family, then you are succeeding in life. We’re told that it is not okay to fail because if you do, then you are destined to be a failure.
However, everyone deals with hardships, misfortunes, and worst of all, we fail at times. Those failures are what make us who we are today. We may stumble and trip on the way to success, but getting up and continuing our journey is what matters the most. Dwelling on the past won’t make a difference, but learning from our past mistakes will help us grow and flourish into the person we are meant to be. Stop thinking about what ‘could’ve’ happened and start thinking about what ‘should’ happen. You are the master of your destiny and the key to your success.
A few years ago, I was terrified of taking risks and making decisions on my own; I felt that I always needed to make the perfect choice. However, some choices that we make might be out of our control, and all we can do is accept it. These few moments never sat well with me. As I grew older, I realized that I couldn’t control everything and couldn’t always look to others to make my decisions for me. I learned that I need to accept the choices I make and let go, even if they weren’t the best of decisions.
If you are in that position of struggle and feel like any choice you take will be a double-edged sword that will prick you where it hurts, then there is only one thing you can do. Take that decision. We may not be in control of the circumstances, but we are in control of letting go and moving on. Take that rope that is tying you down, the rope of past struggles, failures, and misfortunes.
Everybody has a different vision of success and has their ways to achieve their goals. We have our role models, our heroes, and above all, our circumstances that drive us on the path of our success. We have two choices in life: we either stay stuck in the past and never develop from our previous mistakes, or we move forward and see what the future holds for us. If you are in that position right now, always choose moving forward. Take every failure as a lesson and every opportunity as a blessing.
What is the art of letting go? It is the art in which we are able to let go of all the pent-up frustration on the failures that we have experienced in our lives and being able to let them go. These events in our lives are turning points that cause individuals to better themselves. In the end, these points in life make us learn more about ourselves and what we’re going to do with our life next, and forces us to never take anything we have for granted and always appreciate the little things we have.
